As one of the most dependable and promising career development organizations in SoCal for students and young professionals of Asian descent, LEAP Career Development Forum is expanding its volunteer teams of Marketing, Business Development, and IT.

ABOUT LEAP 

LEAP (Leadership, Excellence, Aspiration, Platform) Career Development Forum is a Los Angeles-based 501 (c) (3) nonprofit organization committed to building a trustworthy and sustained platform for professional growth and career advancement of young Asian Americans and those from Asian countries currently studying or working in America in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) and other fields. Launched in February 2013 as an educational program under CESASC (Chinese-American Engineers and Scientists Association of Southern California), LEAP was incorporated in June 2015 to become an independent organization with exclusive focus on establishing a resourceful and open platform to advocate outstanding leadership, encourage professional excellence, cultivate great aspiration, and provide job opportunities.

Social Media and Communications, Marketing Intern

Job Summary:

 

  • Edit, polish, and publish the weekly WeChat and newsletter push

  • Maintain and update different LEAP official social media accounts including Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram, etc. when necessary

  • Write articles for our WeChat, Email, and other platforms

  • Design event/project poster, flyer, and brochure

  • Create multi-media contents (videos, photos, etc.)

  • Communicate with internal and external stakeholders

  • Reach out to media outlets and industry publications

Qualifications:

 

  • You must be willing to work at least 8 flexible hours per week including evenings and weekends

  • Excellent written (e-mail, content creation) and communication skills

  • Familiar with Social Media platforms is preferred

  • Familiar with video/photo editing software is preferred

  • On camera experience for interviews and videoblogging is preferred

  • Extremely well organized and detail-oriented

  • Able to work well in a team

  • Energetic and creative

Business Development Intern

Job Summary:

 

  • Coordinate with Event Leader to organize and deliver events on a regular basis

  • Assist communications, logistics, and pre/post-event follow-ups in all phases of the event

  • Facilitate with fund raising campaigns

Qualifications:

 

  • You must be willing to work at least 8 flexible hours per week including evenings and weekends

  • Excellent communication skills

  • Familiar with business development is preferred

  • Outstanding time management is preferred

  • Be passionate to talk and coordinate with different people

  • Pay great attention to details

Front-End Web Development Intern

Job ID: LEAP-17S-03-IT

Job Summary:

 

The Front-End Web Developer will be responsible for creating smartly designed web features, pages and applications that utilize cutting edge technology and practices as well as maintaining our web content management system. The proper candidate for this position must have a passion for user experience, love new technology and be constantly striving to create a better experience for the organization’s customers and visitors. You will work closely with the IT and marketing teams.

Qualifications:

 

  • You must be willing to work at least 8 flexible hours per week including evenings and weekends

  • Current student in an academic program is preferred

  • Knowledge or experience of content management system is preferred

  • Experience of web design, Joomla developing or user experience design is a plus

  • Able to work as a team

  • Energetic and passionate about new web technologies
